Molise is not an old region and was formed in 1963 when the region of “Abruzzi e Molise” was split in two: Abruzzo and Molise. The youth of Molise often leave the region for larger areas to find employment opportunities. Molise is divided into two provinces: Campobasso and Isernia where Isnernia also serves as a regional capital.
